Microblading and Powder Brows FAQ’s

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AS FAR AS APPEARANCE?

Immediately after, the pigment will appear very dark, and the skin underneath will be red. In 1-2 weeks, the skin will appear healed, and the pigment will fade to a more natural shade.

HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED A TOUCH-UP?

About once a year a “touch-up” is recommended. Every two years you may need to repeat the microblading procedure entirely. For powder brows you may need a touch-up every 1-3 years.

WHAT IS NOT PART OF THE NORMAL HEALING PROCESS?

Puffy or raised microblading area, yellow discharge, very red treatment area or redness extending past the treated area. Scabbing continuing past 2 weeks.

HOW SHOULD MY TREATMENT AREA FEEL?

Immediately after, your skin will be sensitive. After a week, the area will begin to exfoliate leaving soft skin behind. As the area heals it will itch, which is okay. Be careful not to scratch and instead use your medicated ointment as recommended.

DOES PERMANENT MAKEUP HURT?

I use two different types of numbing to help alleviate any discomfort. Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during the microblading process.

HOW LONG IS THE APPOINTMENT?

The appointment usually takes two to three hours, and most of the time is spent going over drawing the shape of your eyebrows and picking the right color to ensure that your eyebrow blading turns out perfect.

WILL YOU DRAW THE SHAPE ON FIRST?

Yes, we won’t start the process until you agree with the size and shape.

CAN I WEAR MAKEUP AFTER MICROBLADING?

Do not wear makeup on the brows for at least two weeks after your procedure, but everywhere else is fine, being careful not to get it on the treated area(s).

IS THE SECOND APPOINTMENT NECESSARY?

For permanent makeup, at least two appointments are needed initially, at least 6 to 8 weeks apart. Touch-ups are done no earlier than six weeks after your initial procedure. It is imperative to complete the touch-up treatment. Without it, the results will not be optimal. At the permanent makeup touch-up, we assess the color retention and make adjustments as necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly the first time, do not worry! We can always go bolder and add more density as well as correct any irregularities in the micro bladed hair strokes during the touch-up.
